What is Trojan

Trojan Youth Ministry is a community based Christian discipleship course, forming young people to be effective in evangelisation through personal conversion. Trojan is a team of committed young adults who make a difference in our world by reaching the youth of today at schools, camps, churches, detention centers and your local street corners. Trojan takes hold of the Christian message and presents it in a dynamic, Youth digestible fashion.

Join Team

Young people who come through Trojan are equipped with skills and training that prepares them for endeavors such as University, work, family or travel. We help you identify your gifts and talents and give you opportunities to develop them. You learn to work in a team and develop team responsibilities like organizing for camps, outreaches and conferences. As the year is built on Christian formation you will develop a sustainable prayer life while also developing your social skills, and confidence through presentation of dramas and public speaking. Trojan is intense and challenging and therefore helps to build self discipline and character. The year is varied and exciting.

Certificate IV CSW

Trojan provides the opportunity to receive a Certificate IV in Community Service Work (CHC40708) delivered by partnership with CALAM Training. The course requirements are incorporated into the Trojan ministry program (1 year). This course will prepare each member to be competent in community work across a variety of settings, from local church ministry to secular options in the wider community.

Cert IV costs an additional $3000.00 on top of Trojan living expenses $8150.00 AUSSTUDY or Youth Allowance. Check out www.centrelink.gov.au to see if you qualify to receive government assistance during your year on Trojan.

Trojan FAQs

Q. Can I date while on team?
A. The year is designed to keep your full focus on God, no exclusive relationships are allowed ie. dating

Q. Can I live at home and still be on Trojan?
A. An important part of the discipleship program is living in same sex Christian accommodation. Living at home just isn’t as radical!! No you can’t live at home.

Q. When do I get holidays?
A. You get 3x one week holidays spread out through the year.

Q. What will it cost me?
A. Trojan = $170 per wk. or $8150.00 for the year (includes rent/food/bills).
Certificate IV CSW= additional $3000

Q. How do I cover costs?
A. Each team member organizes their own sponsorship for the year, asking family, friends, bosses, churches’ to sponsor them e.g.asking 10 people to sponsor you $17 a week each.

Q. Is there an overseas mission trip?
A. Absolutely! The team will travel to a developing country for 10-14 days to mix with the culture, run Christian programs and assist the locals.

Q. When does the team start & finish?
A. Team begins on January 19th and finishes December 16th
