Monday Message from Joe Chircop

Dear brothers and sisters,

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”– Isaiah 43:19

We received this prophecy at the beginning of this year and little did we realise just how true it would be!

SHS CONFERENCE FOLLOWUP

Our first online Share the Holy Spirit conference, Arise 2020, was a wonderful success. I am extremely grateful to the team who worked so hard to deliver a high-quality presentation in every respect. Thanks also to all of you who supported the conference.

We were truly blessed with excellent speakers and I want to thank them all for their contribution. I also wish to highlight here two of the messages:

  1. Dr Mary Healy gave a challenging talk on the importance of staying spiritually alert. She spoke of the Church in Sardis (Rev 3) who were reputed to be alive but were in fact spiritually dead. When we are not AWAKE we are actually dead – dead to hearing God, dead to seeing Him in action in our lives. Included in her talk was the parable of the 10 virgins – 5 wise and 5 foolish (Matt25)

Importantly, Dr Healy concluded her talk with three specific ways we can stay awake:

  1. REPENTRepentance brings joy. We begin to understand with God’s mind. We break out of our earthbound ways of doing things and see things God’s way.
  2. FORGIVE Forgive anyone who has offended you and ask forgiveness of those whom you have offended.
  3. OILOil stands for the Holy Spirit. Our aim in life is to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

In these 3 ways we can become so awake to God that the world will see the Glorious Jesus. Arise and shine out!

  1. John Arnott gave a wonderful talk on the 3 distinct journeys every believer must undertake:

a) INWARD: for God to do a work in you;

b) UPWARD: for you to respond to Him and love Him; and

c) OUTWARD: having a mission in life and where you share the Good News!

John shared that most people, it seems, didn’t focus a lot of attention on the inward journey because they are so focussed on their outward mission.Yet the inward journey is so crucial to how we relate to others. “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” Luke 6:45. Importantly a strong constant of all 3 journeys is the Fathers love for his children.

I also spoke about the need for receiving fresh oil and many people responded to this at our Sunday Gathering.

SUNDAY GATHERINGS:

I would like to inform you that we now have the capacity to enable all our SOJ members to attend a Gathering once every two weeks. The creche is open and the mothers’ room is available. Holy Ground coffee shop is also openbetween services.

Obviously if you are sick or have an underlying medical issue you would need to stay away, the same applies if you are over 70 and don’t feel comfortable about coming back yet.

I look forward to worshipping with you soon!

God Bless,

Joe Chircop.
